BIOS Questions

How do I get into the BIOS setup?
Keep hitting the DELETE key during the system memory count.
Do you have a BIOS history file that includes the problem(s) fixed for each revision of the BIOS?
Yes, click here for the file.
How do I update or flash my BIOS?
Updated BIOS are available on our FTP site.
How do I clear the CMOS? How do I clear the BIOS password?
Power off your system, move JBAT1 (see system board diagram) to 2-3 and leave it there for 2 or 3 seconds.
Move JBAT1 back to 1-2 and power up your system.
I have flashed my BIOS, but now I get no video!
Try clearing your CMOS (see above). Make sure you've flashed the BIOS using the correct BIOS for your system
board; flashing the wrong BIOS will render the board inoperable.

Hardware Questions

Can I use an ATA-66/100 IDE HDD with this system?
Yes, but it will run at ATA-33, instead of
ATA-66/100.
I've turned the system on, but I'm getting no power (i.e., power supply fan does not spin).
Make sure the cable from the case's power switch is connected properly to
the board's power on jumper; refer to the motherboard manual. Try reseating the ATX power connector to the motherboard.
Disconnect all the power connectors to your HDD, FDD, CD-ROM, etc. then
try powering the system up. Try replacing the ATX power supply.
I have two USB ports in the back, how do I enable them?
Windows NT 4.0 currently do not support USB. Windows 98 or Windows 2000 comes with native USB drivers.
What kind of DIMMs should I use?
The motherboard only accepts PC100, unbuffered, 3.3V SDRAM DIMM ONLY!
Can I use just one DIMM?
Yes.
What is the system's maximum memory capacity?
It is 512MB using two registered 256MB DIMMs.
Why is 512MB the maximum memory capacity when there are three DIMM slots present?
Because DIMM slot 2 and 3 are actually shared.
Does the system support ECC memory?
Yes.
How do I enable the "DRAM Data Integrity Mode" in the BIOS?
You must use ECC SDRAM DIMM. Otherwise, that option will always stay on Non-ECC.

Processor Settings
To set the CPU speed, you need to set SW1 for the correct clock multiplier; see the table below.
The only exception is the Intel Celeron/566/600 or Pentium III/850 processor. If you're using one of these CPU, then
it does not matter what SW1 is set to; the BIOS will automatically set the correct clock multiplier for you.
| Processor |
SW1 Jumper Setting: 1, 2, 3, 4 |
| Intel Celeron/366 PPGA |
5.5x (on, on, off, off) |
| Intel Celeron/400 PPGA |

| Intel Pentium III/850 |
8.5x (N/A - autodetect by BIOS) |
If you get no video after installing the processor, try clearing the BIOS first.
In the system BIOS setup, under the "CPU Play & Play III" menu, there is an option call "CPU Clock/Spread Spectrum."
Set this option to 66MHz/On for Celeron processors; set it to 100MHz/On for Pentium III.
If you set this option to 100MHz/On and install an Intel Celeron CPU, then you will get no video.
Because you are attempting to run the Celeron at 100MHz front side bus, which is not supported.

Front Panel Connector Block (JFP)
For the keyboard lock jumper, putting a jumper on it will lock the keyboard;
so it should be open by default. If the HDD LED, power LED, or speaker doesn't
work, try reversing the connector.

Back I/O Connectors
Don't mix up the PS/2 mouse and keyboard connector, otherwise your keyboard
may not work properly.
