    BIOS Questions

How do I get into the BIOS setup?

Keep hitting the DELETE key during the system memory count.

Do you have a BIOS history file that includes the problem(s) fixed for each revision of the BIOS?

Yes, click here for the file.

How do I update or flash my BIOS?

Updated BIOS are available on our FTP site.

I have flashed my BIOS, but now I get no video!

Try clearing your CMOS (see above). Make sure you've flashed the BIOS using the correct BIOS for your system board; flashing the wrong BIOS will render the board inoperable.

    Hardware Questions

Does the K133 support the AMD Athlon XP processors?

Yes, version 7ZX-H and 7ZXE of the K133 will support the Athlon XP CPUs. Version 7ZX-1 of the K133 DOES NOT.

I have an AMD Athlon CPU with the 266MHz FSB. How do I configure the board to recognize it properly?

First, make sure you have the version 7ZX-H or 7ZXE board (see question above).

For 7ZX-H, set SW1 to 1 and 3 on, and 2 and 4 off. Next, move JP21 (next to the ATX power supply connector) to 1-2 (away from the DIMM slots).

    For 7ZXE, set CLK_JP to 1-2.

How do I enable or disable the onboard audio?

Hit the DELETE key during power up to go into the BIOS, and then go to Advanced Chipset Features. Set the OnChip Sound feature to DISABLED. Set it to AUTO to enable it.

I've turned the system on, but I'm getting no power (i.e., power supply fan does not spin).

Make sure the cable from the case's power switch is connected properly to the board's power on jumper; refer to the motherboard manual. Try reseating the ATX power connector to the motherboard. Disconnect all the power connectors to your HDD, FDD, CD-ROM, etc. then try powering the system up. Try replacing the ATX power supply.

I have two USB ports in the back, how do I enable them?

Windows NT 4.0 currently do not support USB. Windows 98/98SE, Windows 2000, Windows ME comes with native USB drivers.

What kind of DIMMs should I use?

The motherboard only accepts PC100/133, unbuffered, 3.3V SDRAM DIMM.

Can I use just one DIMM?

    Yes.

Does the system support ECC memory?

No, the chipset does not have ECC support.

What is the system's maximum memory capacity?

It is 1.5GB using three 512MB DIMMs.

    AMI BIOS History

Version F6 or higher BIOS is only for the K133 system board version 7ZXE.
If your system was purchased AFTER 12/17/2001, it should be version 7ZXE.

    Version F6 - official release 12/05/2001

    Initial BIOS release

Version F1 ~ F3 BIOS is only for the K133 system board version 7ZX-H. Do not use this for version 7ZX-1 boards. You can check to see which version you have by looking at the upper left corner of the system board (assuming the three DIMM slots are facing you). Look for a white rectangle that reads -1 or -H. Alternatively, if your system was purchased AFTER 08/28/2001, it should be version H.

    Version F3 - official release 12/07/2001

Fixed: Exiting BIOS without saving causing POST failure

    Version F2 - official release 10/12/2001

Added support for AMD Athlon XP CPUs (up to 1800+)

    Version F1 - official release 08/27/2001

Added support for AMD Athlon CPUs with 266MHz FSB

Please use the below BIOS version FD for the K133 system board version 1.

Version FD - official release 07/11/2001

Added support for AMD Athlon 1.3GHz and 1.4GHz processors
