    BIOS Questions

How do I get into the BIOS setup?

Keep hitting the DELETE key during the system memory count.

Do you have a BIOS history file that includes the problem(s) fixed for each revision of the BIOS?

Yes, click here for the file.

How do I clear the CMOS setting and/or BIOS password?

Turn off your system and remove the chassis cover. Locate the JBAT1 jumper (see System Board Diagram below). Move JBAT1 to 2-3 (towards the memory slots) and leave the jumper there for 2-3 seconds. Then move it back to 1-2. Replace the chassis cover and turn on the system.

How do I update my BIOS?

Updated BIOS are available on our FTP site.

    Hardware Questions

I have 128MB, yet it is showing I have only 120MB.

The Intel Extreme Graphics 2 allocates 8MB of your system memory to be used for the video memory.

How do I disable the onboard audio?

Go into the BIOS setup (hit DELETE key while system is booting up) and go into Integrated Peripherals / Audio Device and set it to disabled.

How do I disable the onboard LAN?

Go into the BIOS setup (hit DELETE key while system is booting up) and go into Integrated Peripherals / OnBoard LAN and set it to disabled.

How do I disable the onboard Firewire controller?

Go into the BIOS setup (hit DELETE key while system is booting up) and go into Integrated Peripherals / OnBoard 1394 and set it to disabled.

I have a USB keyboard or mouse, but it doesn't work in the BIOS or when I boot to DOS, even though it works fine once Windows is loaded up.

Plug in a PS/2 keyboard for now and go into the BIOS setup (hit DELETE key while system is booting up). Go to Integrated Peripherals / USB Mouse/KB Legacy Support and set it to Keyb+Mouse. Save and exit from the BIOS, and change your keyboard or mouse back to the USB version.

I've turned the system on, but I'm getting no power (i.e., power supply fan does not spin).

Make sure the cable from the case's power switch is connected properly to the board's power on jumper; refer to the motherboard manual. Try reseating the ATX power connector to the motherboard. Disconnect all the power connectors to your HDD, FDD, CD-ROM, etc. then try powering the system up. Try replacing the ATX power supply.

How do I enable my USB ports?

Windows NT 4.0 currently do not support USB. Windows 98/98SE, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium Edition (Me), and Windows XP all come with native USB drivers.

What kind of DDR DIMMs can I use?

    DDR400/PC3200 non ECC DDR DIMMs.

Can I use just one DIMM?

    Yes.

What is the system's maximum memory capacity?

It is 1GB using two 512MB DIMMs.

    Operating System Specific Questions

I have an Unknown Device in Device Manager under Windows 9x, Me, W2K, or XP.

You may need to install the Intel Chipset INF update.

Do you have a troubleshooting guide for Windows 98/98SE?

Yes, see our Premio Windows 98/98SE Troubleshooting Guide.

Do you have a troubleshooting guide for Windows 2000? Yes, we do; please see Premio Windows 2000 Troubleshooting Guide.
