BIOS Questions

How do I get into the BIOS setup?
Keep hitting the DELETE key during the system memory count.
How do
I
clear
the
BIOS?
Power
off the system and move JBAT1 (see System Board Diagram below; JBAT1 is located
on the bottom left hand corner of the board) to 2-3 (away from the edge of the
board) and leave it there for 2-3 seconds. Then move it back to 1-2 and power up
the system again.
Do you have a BIOS history file that includes the problem(s) fixed for each revision of the BIOS?
Yes, click
here for the file.
How do I update or flash my BIOS?
Updated BIOS are available on our FTP site.
I have flashed my BIOS, but now I get no video!
Try clearing your CMOS (see above). Make sure you've flashed the BIOS using the correct BIOS for your system
board; flashing the wrong BIOS will render the board inoperable.

Hardware Questions

I
have 256MB system memory, yet it is showing I have only 240MB.
If
you are using the onboard video, it will take away a MINIMUM of 16MB
from your total system memory. For example, if you have 256MB of
system memory, and you set the onboard video for 16MB, you will
actually have a total of 240MB. The
onboard video uses a shared video memory architecture. You can
adjust the amount allocated in the BIOS; it is user selectable at
16MB (default), 32MB, and 64MB max.
How
do I adjust the amount of system memory allocated to the onboard
video?
Hit
the DELETE key during power up to go
into the BIOS, and then go to
Advanced
Chipset
Features,
AGP
&
P2P
Bridge
Control,
VGA
Share
Memory
Size.
You
can
set
it
to
16MB, 32MB, or 64MB.
How
do I get the FULL amount of system memory?
Simply
add an AGP video card and you get the full amount of system memory back.
Can
I use the onboard video AND an AGP video card simultaneously?
No.
I
am installing
an Athlon XP processor, but the clock speed is not being display
correctly. Most
likely the CPU front side bus (FSB) speed is set incorrectly. Athlon XP
processor FSB is 266MHz or 333MHz, while Duron processor is 200MHz.
Set SW1 to
2-3, SW2 to
1-2 for 333MHz
Set SW1 to 1-2, SW2
to 1-2 for 266MHz
Set SW1 to
1-2, SW2 to 2-3 for 200MHz
Please
refer to the system board diagram below for the location of SW1 and SW2 (they're located
next to the battery).
How
do I disable the onboard video?
Add an AGP video card will disable the onboard video.
How
do I enable or disable the onboard audio?
Hit
the DELETE key during power up to go
into the BIOS, and then go to
Integrated
Peripherals,
VIA
OnChip
PCI
Device,
and
set
VIA-3058
AC97
Audio
to
disabled
or
auto
(enabled).
How
do I enable or disable the onboard LAN?
Hit
the DELETE key during power up to go
into the BIOS, and then go to
Integrated Peripherals, VIA OnChip PCI Device, and set VIA-3043 OnChip LAN to disabled
or enabled.
I've turned the system on, but I'm getting no power (i.e., power supply fan does not spin).
Make sure the cable from the case's power switch is connected properly to
the board's power on jumper; refer to the motherboard manual. Try reseating the ATX power connector to the motherboard.
Disconnect all the power connectors to your HDD, FDD, CD-ROM, etc. then
try powering the system up. Try replacing the ATX power supply.
I have four USB ports in the back, how do I enable them?
Windows NT 4.0 do not support USB .
For Windows XP, make sure you have SP1 or higher installed. For
Windows 2000 or 9x/Me, see the section below for the drivers.
What kind of
DDR DIMMs should I use?
The motherboard accepts DDR266 or DDR333 DIMMs.
Can I use just one
DDR DIMM?
Yes.
What is the system's maximum memory capacity?
It
is 1.0GB using 2 x 512MB.

Back I/O Connectors
Don't mix up the PS/2 mouse and keyboard connector, otherwise your keyboard
may not work properly. It's highly recommended that you use powered
speakers for the onboard sound .
